Law firms join forces for Ukraine with action: Stand Firm!

A collective of 20 of the 50 largest law firms in the Netherlands is calling on all law firms in the Netherlands to refuse to carry out transactions that may have the purpose of safeguarding the interests of the Russian president, the Russian state, Russian (state) companies or the Russian elite insofar as they do not openly oppose the invasion of Ukraine. In this way they want to prevent the interests of those who (indirectly) facilitate the war against Ukraine from being served.

In their statement, the law firms state that now is the time to show their colors and take joint responsibility under the motto: Stand firm!

"As a result of the invasion and war in Ukraine and the threat of the use of nuclear weapons, peace and democracy in Europe are under serious threat. Ukraine is defending its democracy with all its might, but this is an unequal battle without external support. Now is the time to make sure we don't stand by in silence or avert our eyes and keep working," the offices said.

Participants of the action:

Barentskrans, Bird & Bird (Netherlands) LLP, Boels Zanders Advocaten, Brinkhof, Cleerdin & Hamer Advocaten, CMS Nederland, Dirkzwager legal & tax, DVDW, Florent, Kennedy Van der Laan, KienhuisHoving Advocaten en Notarissen, La Gro Geelkerken, LXA Advocaten, Nysingh advocaten en notarissen, Ploum, Stek, Trip Advocaten Notarissen, Van Benthem & Keulen, Van Diepen Van der Kroef en Wijn & Stael Advocaten.
