Wouter Akkermans joined Wijn & Stael as an attorney in early 2026. As a member of the Insolvency & Restructuring and Commercial Contracts practice groups, Wouter has dedicated his practice to assisting bankruptcy trustees and companies with settling bankruptcy cases. He also advises on restructuring matters and commercial contracts.

Liability Law and Commercial Property Law
During his master’s program, Wouter specialized in liability law and commercial property law, writing his thesis on the uncertainty of causality in product liability cases. He also gained experience working as a legal assistant at a number of large law firms.
