Ferdinand Bosvelt joined the firm as a restructuring and insolvency attorney in 2011. He counsels and represents businesses and directors in litigation matters involving bankruptcy, moratorium or insolvency issues, and is regularly appointed as trustee in bankruptcy cases. Ferdinand is also part of the privacy law section and is mainly concerned with questions about the concurrence of privacy and insolvency law within privacy law.

Representative Practice

  • Represented energy supplier Welkom Energie B.V. in the withdrawal of its supply license, the transfer of its customers to Eneco and the preparation of its bankruptcy. In addition, Ferdinand led a multidisciplinary team of Wijn & Stael that consisted of lawyers with various specializations, including insolvency law, administrative law, contract law, employment law and privacy law.
  • Represented a multinational in a complex liability claim due to directors’ liability in a number of bankruptcies and, following consultation with the insurance company, successfully reached a settlement with all stakeholders.
  • Represented a director initially held liable by a trustee and subsequently by the Tax and Customs Administration, both of which were persuaded to withdraw their claims following intensive discussions and presentation of relevant arguments. Withdrawal of the claims rendered litigation unnecessary.
  • Represented a number of trustees in challenging bankruptcies, counseling, litigating and assisting on aspects of the regularity audit.

Ferdinand has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
